Couples Counseling

Relationship conflicts are normal, but it can be a sign that parts of your relationship aren't working. That's where couples therapy can help.

My Approach
I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to help patners change their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in ways that are more benefitial to the relationship. I also use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples get to the deeper meaning of their conflicts, develop a deeper understanding of each other's experiences, perspectives, and needs, and communicate in healthier ways. Behind every criticism is an unmet need and I help couples:

  • Identify & break their negative relationship patterns
  • Heal emotional wounds & resentment
  • Stop the blame game & take personal ownership
  • Respond to each other instead of react
  • Develop a deeper understanding of themselves & each other
  • Identify each other's love language
  • Build emotional connection & intimacy
  • Build mutual respect
  • Develop effective & constructive communication skills
  • Identify core needs
  • Develop effective conflict resolution & problem-solving skills
  • Develop appreciation, empathy, & compassion for each other
  • Develop a team mindset
  • Learn how to successfully support each other
  • Identify what successful couples do differently to build & maintain a healthy stable love over time
  • Learn to manage conflicts with in-laws
  • Learn to date each other again
  • Better understand each other's personality type

Relationships change and evolve just like people do, and conflicts offer an opportunity to learn, grow, and strengthen the bonds between you and your partner. If you're ready to decrease relationship stress, deepen your connection with your partner, and improve your relationship satisfaction, let's connect!
